Procurement Services is pleased to announce the launch of a new contract with Fisher Scientific as our new prime vendor for lab supplies. FSU departments should now use the SpearMart punchout catalog for Fisher Scientific as first stop for common lab supplies such as nitrile gloves, pipette tips, microcentrifuge tubes, culture plates, flasks, chemicals, reagents, glassware, and filters.

Purchasing restrictions within Fisher Scientific’s SpearMart punchout catalog have been lifted, and restrictions will be added to VWR’s catalog for items that can alternatively be purchased from Fisher Scientific per our new contract effective June 16, 2023.

Our evaluation consisted of an analysis of vendor-proposed pricing for over 500 commonly purchased items. The outcome of our evaluation is a result of a collaborative procurement effort with the University of Florida who also recently evaluated pricing from both companies.

For future price protection with Fisher Scientific, we negotiated an annual price cap, where pricing on aggregate shall not exceed the annual change in Producer Price Index (PPI). We also negotiated price match contract language where Fisher Scientific will make best effort to match pricing offered by any competitor.
